PILAR by Anya – Collection 2009!

In June of this year my clothing line was launched at Fashion Week Trinidad and Tobago and received very favourable reviews as a fresh new look for Caribbean fashion. The line, PILAR, was named after my brother who died in a tragic car accident at eighteen years old. His life and early death propelled me to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a fashion designer. The line is designed for women with eclectic style and a desire to be individual. PILAR offers strong sexy pieces that can be mixed and matched into your wardrobe and dressed up or down for any occasion

Back in Trinidad!

It has been way too long since I last made an entry but I had very little internet connection in Vietnam while I was at the Miss Universe pageant. Not to mention very little time! Anyway, I am back in Trinidad after an incredible journey that took me throughout Vietnam and to Siem Reap in Cambodia. I will be sure to share more stories and photos soon. STUDIOFILMCLUB presents Into the Wild

StudioFilmClub is a weekly film club run by artists Peter Doig and Che Lovelace in the "back studio" at Building 7 in the Fernandes Industrial Centre in Laventille, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Since February 2003, SFC has offered free screenings of Caribbean, foreign-language, independent and art-house films to Trinidadian viewers, in casual, low-frills surroundings with an eclectic, free-and-easy atmosphere.

A Fine Ladies Affair

Last night I had the honour of attending a make-up tutorial with world renowned make-up artist Sam Fine along with the stunning Eva Marcille Pigford, winner of the third season of America's Next Top Model. It was amazing to witness a master at work and I walked away with some excellent insider secrets! I was also so impressed with Eva's ability to anticipate Sam's movements as I watched her shift her eyes and change facial expressions as he needed. Her experience definitely showed. Let's see how much I manage to put into practice myself!
